The Big Move! My Casita Comes Home!

Free Range is finally home!

With the move behind us, we were finally able to bring my Casita home!

As photo below shows, we now store her at the back of our property, but we hope to modify the horse shelter in the background by converting one of the stalls into storage for our trailer. Until then, she will have to bear the elements.

In the meantime, I thought you might enjoy some images from the move, and Free Range’s new homestead. 🙂

Happy Trails!

Mrs. Padilly

When not in use, my poor Casita use to sit in this lonely storage shed; protected from the elements, but not convenient for me to work on other than getting her ready for a trip (Mr. Padilly’s boat C-Horse use to share this space).

But that has all changed with our move to the country, and now I can look out my window and see her sitting along the back of the property.

Free Range at her New Home

I call our new home
“Texas’ Smallest Ranch”
A whole two acres!

A few horses and two dogs use to occupy the property, but our three cats replaced the horses, and we just added a dog.

Our new home is truly a Texas styled home, including the Texas Star added to woodwork and adornments inside and outside the property. So in honor of our new homestead, the theme of my Casita’s makeover will be all about Texas! Such as:

Yellow Roses

Yellow Rose of Texas

Curious Deer in the Pasture

Visit from Deer in Pasture

Bluebonnets and Indian Blankets
in our own backyard

Texas Wildflowers Bluebonnets Indian Blankets

Faith, Home, and Family

God Bless Texas

And all those things I love about the Lone Star State.

Texas Seal

The photo below shows the place where a lot of this work will take place; it will house my studio and Mr. Padilly’s woodshop.

As they say, looks can be deceiving, as the cottage is unfinished on the inside, and a complete mess.  Hopefully in the not to distant future it will become the hub of all creative activities at our new home.

Glad to read more on Glamping. We’ve been looking around at newer campervans and still can’t find anything we love more than our 1993 Roadtrek. So, we will be doing a bit of an upgrade in coming month. We want to have it repainted and I was hoping to change the vinyl flooring to wood look planks. The interior is old rose and plum but I am hoping we can update the blinds and tone down the colours with grey or blues. The interior is honey oak and I sure would love to paint it. All plans…

Hi cteachr! Sounds like a chalk paint project to me. Greys and blues could tone it down, or maybe grayish shades of green?

It’s a great place you have there: wonderful. I’m glad you were able to get the casita home. Enjoy: your new place, the casita and the boat!
    Have a great time,

I love the color of your Casita! May I ask how you paint edit? DIY or professional? It’s really beautiful.

Thank you. I’m afraid that is the one question I cannot answer, as we purchased it this way from the original owners, via an RV trader.

If I had to guess, it was professionally done, as it is a tough marine grade surface.
